AX
The AX Trading System (AX) is an efficient, multi-site, electronic
arbitrage application. The system was designed with speed and flexibility
in mind. Users can quickly execute trades and customize the screen on the
spreadsheet-like interface. Users can configure how the data are shown, the
workspace layout, and data entry. AX allows traders to receive real-time
stock quotes and execute trades with multiple execution houses through
the highly customizable client interface.
- The work space is divided into multiple grids, each containing
a specific functionality.
- The interface can be customized by selecting specific properties,
columns, and data to be displayed on the grids.
- The quote grid displays basket, pairs, and single stock quotes.
- The trade grid displays basket, pairs, and single stock executions.
Users can modify trades from this grid as well.
- The position grid tracks net profit/loss per single stock, pairs,
or basket item.
- Each grid is a movable window which allows traders to construct a
personalized trading screen.
Administration
For supervisory users, AX has an administrative feature which provides
database reports (such as basket and equity executions) as well as complete
access to proprietary accounts.
Additional Tools
The Importer electronically loads National Securities Clearing
Corporation (NSCC) index weighting data. The Customer Service
Application is a Help Desk utility for checking trades and orders.
The FIX Administration Tool allows administrators to control FIX
sessions on a per-session basis, increasing the robustness of the system.
Architecture
Application services run on Microsoft Windows 2000 servers,
with a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. The Client Application
runs under Windows NT/2000/XP operating systems. Communications
are standard TCP/IP between client and server and server and execution
houses. FIX protocol version 4.0 is used for financial transactions.
The software was developed with Borland Delphi.
Network
The AX Trading System technical infrastructure utilizes state-of-the-art
equipment and software. The network is composed of fully
redundant and diversified T1 circuits with dual Cisco routers and
Cisco Level 3 switches at every location. We use Dell PowerEdge
servers with RAID drive technology. All network devices are
monitored 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Our primary
hosting center is completely duplicated and ready to go at a
moments notice.
Future Enhancements
Development of the AX system is dynamic and customer
needs are always considered. Our team of developers can
implement features as dictated by our client’s needs.
